A brewery that teaches
Innovation Brew Works is a professionally managed brewpub and brewery at Innovation Village on the Cal Poly Pomona campus. Established in 2014, it is open to the public of all ages and was the first brewery in the nation to brew and serve on a college campus.
IBW runs as a learn-by-doing brewery laboratory for Cal Poly Pomona students, alumni, faculty, and the general public. True to the brewery's tagline, "Crafting an Education," students get hands-on experience with brewing and brewpub operations.

On tap now
Sixteen varieties of beer and seltzer on tap, with bottles and growlers to go. Most popular: Summer Vacation, Dr. Ortiz Orange Witbier, Luther Holt IPA, and Magic School Bus. Every orange in the Ortiz wit is grown on the university campus.
Every pour follows the same syllabus — Crafting an Education. The lineup reads like a course catalog, brewed in-house in the on-site teaching brewery, and the taps rotate constantly, so there's always a new release to try. Pull up a stool inside or settle in on the dog-friendly patio with a flight.

Decorated, on and off campus
IBW's beers have earned medals and ribbons from the San Diego International Beer Competition, the Los Angeles International Beer Competition, and the Brewer Cup of California — where Lunch Lady, a dry-hopped Saison, took four medals.
The brewpub was also named first place for Retail Sales (Single Concept) in the NACUFS Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards, ranking it among the country's best campus dining concepts.
Unlike many breweries, we serve custom made food
Build your own personal pizza — pick your sauce, cheese, meat, and veggies — or order a craft pizza, fresh salad, wings, or baked noodles. Gluten-free cauliflower crust and vegan cheese available.
Sauces range from garlic butter and pesto to BBQ, buffalo, ranch, and classic red. Add bacon, chicken, sausage, or beef, then load up on veggies. Not in the mood for pizza? There are wings, baked jalapeño poppers, beer-cheese mac, tater tots with rosemary aioli, fresh salads, and sweets like the cinnamon-swirl crust and a warm chocolate-chip cookie.

Catering for your next event
IBW caters events across campus and beyond. Place your order at least 10 days before your event for the best service.
Catering delivery is available to the Cal Poly Pomona campus and Southern California Edison (SCE). From department meetings to graduation parties, the team builds a menu around your event, your headcount, and your budget.
How it works
- Browse the catering menu and build your order online.
- Submit at least 10 days ahead.
- We deliver to CPP campus or SCE, or arrange pickup.
More than a brewery — part of the university
Spent grain from the brewing process is fed to cows managed by the Cal Poly Pomona College of Agriculture, and seasonal produce grown on campus appears in select dishes throughout the year.
IBW beers are served at restaurants on and off campus across the Pomona and Covina areas. On campus, find them at the Farm Store, The Patio, Kellogg West, and the Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch.
When you support services owned and operated by Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises (opens in a new tab), you help students get on-campus jobs and fund scholarships, campus programs, and educational grants.

Working at IBW is hands-on, from the brewpub floor to the brewhouse. Students can also apply to the Assistant Brewer Training Program and learn the craft from the ground up. Positions across Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises are posted year-round, so check back often.
